I long since gave up overtly evangelizing for #BTC, but it came up when they told me how much a Big Mac costs where they live.
From there I mentioned inflation, the diminishing returns & weakened purchasing power of $USD. I asked who they bank with; mentioned the dangers of holding large amounts of money outside of the top five U.S. banks (FDIC Insurance & what not)
This was all Ben Stein (Beuller…Beauller…Beuller…) levels of monotone regurgitation of #Bitcoin knowledge & I thought nothing of it.
Until…they messaged back asking about “What if there’s no electricity, #Bitcoin will fail…” “What about all the hacks & scams…”
