Intentionally or unintentionally, for better or worse, trending feeds and suggested follows will result in user manipulation. We’ve seen plenty examples of the “worse” on other platforms. If they’re to be useful on #nostr then I urge those building them to build them “better” now, while things are new, before the “worse” has a chance to seep in. Surely this is not a controversial take among a community of users that just came over from rampant censorship and feed manipulation on Twitter/X.

Any trending algo related to zaps will be manipulated, i call it #zapwashing
So easy for someone to have 2+ accounts or even just zap their self
Unfortunately #nostr probably will not be widely adopted as a social platform without some sort of spoon-feeding of Current Things™️ since people are lazy (for lack of a better word). They can’t hang with the “if he sees it, he sees it” PoW engagement as both a creator and a consumer of content here
