There appears to be a censorship issue around LLMs. According to this comment: https://huggingface.co/meta-llama/Meta-Llama-3.1-405B/discussions/15

Chinese can't (legally) use Llama3.1.

I guess, Iranians and Cubans neither.

I wonder how they think to enforce such rules with otherwise giving access to anybody and everybody.

Chinese have been banned from all AI stuff starting with the original chatgpt, that's half the reason why the government has been fighting back by funding Chinese LLM startups.
