This is gonna look like a #hamradio post but I promise it is also about #bitcoin and its community if you read to the end.

A "quick" tour of the electromagnetic spectrum from biggest waves to smallest waves.

Greater than 100 meter long waves. The atomic clocks transmit here. Some government and some ham radio. Very very low data rates so not much commercial use. Inconsistent but global propagation.

Less than 100 meter but greater than 10 meter long waves. Still poor data transmission speeds. Global coverage from a single transmitter possible but inconsistent coverage, always moving coverage area. CB radio and ham radio are the most known uses.

Less that 10 meter but greater than 1 meter long waves. More local coverage some random long distance possible but not common. Still relatively slow data speeds. FM radio, most modern police radio, marine radio, air traffic control, and most new hams. Most of this is clustered around the 2 meter wavelength.

Less than 1 meter but greater than .1 meter waves. The rest of police radio, the highest frequencies commonly used by hams, microwave ovens, 2.4ghz wifi, almost all cell phones, Bluetooth, cordless home phones, zwave and zigbee home automation, LoRa, helium network for you shitcoiners reading, and low band 5g cellular.

Less than .1 meter but greater than .01 meter (1 centimeter). 5ghz wifi, point to point links between radio towers. Mid band 5g cellular.

Less than .01 meter (1 centimeter) greater than .001 meter (1 millimeter). High band or mmwave 5g, this is only deployed in dense urban environments because coverage is terrible. Truly terrible, a cell on every light post just to cover the sidewalks bad.

Then there is a gap with nothing interesting going on.

100 micrometers (.0001 meters) to 750 nanometers (.00000000750 meters). Infrared. You have have the ability to sense this directly, it feels like heat.

750 nanometers (.00000000750 meters) to 380 nanometers (.00000000380 meters). Visible light. red at the 380nm end, orange, yellow, green blue, indigo, and finally violet at the 750nm end. Oh already knew the order I was gonna say, right?

315 nanometers (.00000000315 meters) to 1 nanometer (.00000000001 meters). UV aka ultraviolet, the first waves small enough to get inside your cells and damage your DNA. Causes skin cancer and visible aging from too much exposure. The dose makes the poison though. Sunlight is critical to making vitamin D, so 0 exposure is not the correct answer.

Smaller than this is x rays and gamma rays. More cancer with high exposure here. The broken bone is a far bigger concern than the x rays. Risk goes way up for the x ray tech who is doing them all day, that is why they hide but you don't have to.

TLDR

Waves bigger than visible light can't get inside or between your cells to get inside your body. They are far too big. If you touch an energized conductor you get shocks and or burns. Extremely strong fields can burn you from a short distance. The only way to get exposed to that kind of emf is to go way past the warning signs at a radio tower or be in a riot where they use those heat ray cannons to disperse you.

What does this have to do with #bitcoin? Dr Kruse is either a moron or a scammer. Go back and look at the size of the waves. Telling me that you got sick from wifi or 5g is about as silly as blaming a stomach ache on a passing tractor trailer. It can't get in there to cause that problem. If you were exposed to a tractor trailer at high enough energy to cause a problem, you wouldn't get a stomach ache from it.

When you talk this snake oil salesman up right next to your pro bitcoin stuff you make us all look like idiots and hurt adoption.

Think I'm the one who is crazy? You can prove I'm right with a simple at home experiment. Stick an ant in the microwave with a cup of water. The cup of water is there because running an empty microwave can damage the microwave because there is nothing to absorb the energy. The ant is completely unaffected even after the water boils because the waves of the microwave are far bigger than the ant.

It's wild what you become capable of with some understanding. Love the post.

Thanks dude, by a mile the most effort I've put into any single post. That wifi/5g makes you sick myth is a personal pet peeve though, I saw one too many posts about Jack Kruse and had to say my piece even if no one who believes him reads it.
