you know the story of jonah and the big fish, right? well those sailors who chucked him over-board were converted. What do you think one of their testimonies might sound like?

“My whole life I had been serving many false gods. But then, one day I found myself before the terrible wrath of God. There was a literal storm outside me, and a spiritual storm inside me. I knew I was in trouble. At first I thought my false gods would help me, but of course they were powerless. And then I spoke to this prophet, this man of God, and he said that he needed to die in order for me to avoid YHWH’s wrath. I was unsure of this, and I tried once more to save myself but of course that didn't work. And so I put my faith in this prophet…I trusted that his death would somehow satisfy God. Me and the men I was with believed in him. And this man, who I know was sent by God, he died. He went down into the depths of the earth. And immediately the storm of God’s wrath disappeared. It was then that I truly feared God. I feared him in the biblical sense, which meant I offered up true worship. My testimony is simply this: That man who was dead for three days, and then came back to life again? He saved me!”
