I like it. It makes a philosophical statement no other positive emission could imo.

Also, it makes no presupposition about the future revenue floor of mining, I think (thought I recently had).

philosophical statements aren't necessarily good monetary policy unfortunately

It's a one-to-zero innovation in progress. First time the human race tried this direction before, we'll see if it works. The philosophy & the reality will follow the experiment, but until bitcoin plays out, we're only hypothesizing with a biased vocabulary.

sure I agree that its largely colored by Bitcoin and the dominant philosophy of Bitcoin

but for real

theres a lot of different thinkers and archetypes happening together.

Innovation follows progress which follows time, and I'm not sure the human race has ever said "fuck it let's drive it all to zero (or at most 21m, same thing) all at once" before.

With this move, on net, I'm optimistic.
