when we arrived at the park we looked for a shady spot under the trees and I put him down on the ground so he could smell around. Colita was super surprised and didn't understand anything at all, haha! He sat there for a few minutes and smelled everything without moving. We gave him his time, and after a few minutes he started walking on his own and wanting to smell everything!

Totally. I tried this once on a cat and they freaked out.
My cat wasnt used to it neither... it was a process.. I remember the first day I put a harness on him he Laid on the floor for half hour without moving, he hated it hahahaha
And yes he bited me in the process
