In Japan, there is a 12.5-meter-high sea wall built exclusively for a tsunami.

After the 2011 disaster, the "Great Tsunami" was built, 395 km long.

The construction is designed to withstand the impact of a wave of 16 million tonnes of water and includes the planting of 9 million trees on the ocean side as a secondary dam.
