None of our friends recommend Crete (nor our doctor) because of strong winds (I think the best time to come here is second half of august), but this is our second time in Crete (last year we went to Malia) and we love it here. Weather is great (no strong winds), food is great, wine also :), people are friendly, there is a lot of history to see and I also love the view of mountains south of the sea. Prices are good, restaurants are as expensive as in Bratislava (or less), much less than in High Tatras. The only thing we miss here is a good coffee, but we can manage it :)
