Hyped for Halloween helps tremendously.
I am dodging this Halloween trend as best as I can.
Why? It's not harmful. I like it a lot. It's super fun for kids and we have nothing similar here. For me as a parent it's a chance to meet neighbors and their children, socialize, do something silly.
We have something like "rummelpotlaufen"
You basically sing a song and get some candies. Teens and adults get drunker at every house.
I understand the joy for kids but don't like it as it has nothing to do with for example regional traditions. And we have a lot of them here. It's just a another "point of turnover" for retailers
