This is one of many headlines I find extremely stretched. Russian government is famous for distrust and very short time preference. They among all governments would be the last who trust new technology and put their money at risk. You talking about people who a mentally in 20th century who think expansion of landmass and brutal force is the most efficient way to preserve global power.

This is nowhere near true, juts imagine the most conservative person you know who believes absolutely bullshit conspiracy theories - they are miles away to trust something that requires first principles thinking

For me it is a good and a bad news.

The good news is that "money" is not the problem, it is a tool only. And it should be only what it was made for "a proof of value/work" and not a power tool.

But, the bad news is that it will add more reasons (if they even need some more) to say #bitcoin is "evil" and used by "evil" country for "evil" reasons.... so "gov" must control it more and more (KYC, forbid it, more legit...).
