Family member has retired after being a nurse for 45 years.
She's creepily desensitised; should I be scared? :p

Scared = no. Bc you understand why she is the person she is.
For a while I physically struggled to get my mom in/out of bed or transition her to and from the bathroom. My whole body would ache the next from the physical effort required to do these things.
I watched a nurse do it one time (to show me the propér way).
Just using words and hand gestures she accomplish with minimal effort tasks that were wearing me out physically.
Man it was like watching a jutjitsu match.
I have a new appreciation for nurses. It's a rough freaking gig. Be grateful to her and what's she's done over that 45 year period for probably hundreds of families.
In short....Psychopathy can be used for good. IMO.
