I will always find it fascinating how I as an immigrant give more shit about the country I am a guest in than the government itself, and locals can't seem to see the huge problem with that.

I guess they have never had to leave a country for economic reasons. Fortunately I will be long gone by the time they realize what is happening, because it will be too late to leave at the point.
