Mostly to the 8-year-old, slowly working our way through the Lord of the Rings after finishing The Hobbit after 1 year reading the Chronicles of Narnia after 10 months of reading A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, and when the kid is asleep, a bit of time for me to finally finish some Jeffrey Kripal, Diana Walsh Pasulka, Gordon White, Brian Cotnoir, Sanford Kwinter, and some other things I pick up and put down whenever there is a chance.

It’s nice to read and reread with the kid though, you get it into your mind and body like an oral history

my da did the same with me at that age. thanks for the author recs!

Read Treasure Island to the kid. Way better than C.S Lewis and Tolkien combined. Especially if you do good voices.

my god that’s a great book, my dad read to me at that age. for some reason my kid didn’t jam with it, I’ll definitely try again though
