Yeah, gifs are a must have.
Whether that cuts into the privacy and security of the whole messaging system is a different story. Since the images have to be fetched to your device.
Even if you attach it from your phone?
It's gotta be stored somewhere. I imagine uploads will go to blossom servers someplace. Preferably your own.

If I upload an image to my server and make your white noise download it, I can see your connection info if you're not using a VPN or Tor. If white noise downloads by default from unknown domains, it could be a risk to some.
