WoS works for Tips, not Zaps just yet. And yes it can be possible that different clients are holding different Nostr profile data.

This is my confusion. How would I know if it is a zap or a regular LN transaction. The process is exactly the same from Bluewallet and WoS on my Android phone using Amethyst.

From a practical standpoint it doesn’t matter, it just doesn’t have the full features of NIP 57 but coming soon!

Understood but it matters when I am specifically trying to do a zap and it is just an LN transaction. It is technically wrong. I have no clue if I have ever actually done a zap. I suspect most think they have but have not ... at least on Android.

What makes it a zap vs a LN transaction? How would you know?

A zap is on note level and is registered in nostr against the note. This means everyone can see that you zapped the note. A tip can be anonymous.
