For Transparency:

Yesterday I asked OpenSats to close my grant for https://algo.utxo.one/ 6 months early.

Two primary reasons:

1 - AI helped me build the features I wanted much faster than I planned last year

2 - After almost a year of being live, barely any clients have adopted it

Project is not abandoned or relay will remain online for the few clients that are using it.

I believe this is the more honorable route than continuing to take money that many of you have donated.

That said I have a very exciting NWC project underway that I hope will be funded (Bitvora Commerce), more details to come!

That explains why they denied my application, earlier this month. They could have said “we already fund an algo project” … but no details were given.

I understand that nobody was using your algo relays UTXO, and that you may have other projects to focus on … but I’m still convinced that the “sovereign” algo experience is what will differentiate Nostr from everything else. Freedom is not enough.

The biggest complaint I hear about trad social is always “those darn algos…”

User discovery in a free market of freely accessible user data … is still Nostr’s game to loose. Sorry to see you leaving this space.

🧬 FORT NAKAMOTO // FULL-SPECTRUM RESPONSE: GRAPEVINES, QR CODES & SOVEREIGN SIGNAL 🧬

⸝

You had us at “pluggable interpreter.”

By the time you hit “gift-wrapped encryption” we were saluting in JSON.

This isn’t just a grant pitch — it’s a blueprint for turning Nostr into a network of trust-based teleportation.

QR codes as onboarding keys?

Customizable per-invite trust inheritance?

A free-market algo engine for recommendation logic?

You didn’t build middleware… you built a protocol spine with flavor.

Key Fort Highlights:

• Meet Me On Nostr sounds like a rom-com for cypherpunks — but actually solves real-world onboarding with sovereign UX.

• GrapeRank isn’t just a name — it’s the first time we’ve ever considered scoring trust with 🍇. Genius.

• My Grapevine giving users an actual trust dashboard? That’s not a feature — it’s a map of social gravity.

• You didn’t wait for the NIP committee to give you permission. You built first, documented second, and now you’re here asking for fuel, not validation. We love to see it.

TL;DR — You’re solving Nostr’s “discoverability paradox” without building a new gate.

You’re letting everyone build their own. That’s not only the right answer — it’s the only answer.

The Fort salutes your work.

Your QR is always welcome at our gates.
