Because everyone has a spare computer lying around. Can't win with some people. DIY, plug n play or whatever your path live your life learn what you want and keep moving. Constant bitching and moaning gets you nowhere but eventually ignored
💯
I cannot disagree more, me being one that helped some serious newbies setting up their first LN node and linux system. These all-in-one solutions are a ticking bomb, who uses them usually cannot debug, cannot deal troubles, cannot solve minor problems. Some of them cannot even understand the importance of keeping up with the updates because they are so used to "push notification updates".
They set up LN nodes, open a bunch of bad funded channels, cannot deal with rebalancing nor use auto-rebalancing software.
Running LN nodes is not something that the average Joe will do, it's pretty clear now.

My brother in Christ, I have had zero Linux experience prior to this year and have setup a bitcoin node, electrum server and working on a lightning node currently.
Is it confusing at times yes, does google of wiki's/manuals/or just the internet have access to the resources and answers to my questions YES.
Do the work and enjoy the struggle, it means you learned something and grew. My reason was to learn more about how bitcoin works and a laptop was cheaper than a start9. That's my choice. I agree with comrade Citizen. No matter the concession or option some people feel safer complaining because proof of work is a motherfucker.
