Finished this one today. For not being a believer, he sometimes has better insights on Christian living than proclaimed believers.

I enjoyed this one and recommend it.

Worth the read? I have a weird hindsight bias against him. Wasn't into him in the hayday, and he's since had the drug thing and been pretty wishy washy on Bitcoin (a great sin to my maxi mind)

I think so.

I don't listen to any of his new stuff. I did enjoy some of his older lectures when he was first traveling around.

Generally good principles that most would benefit from.

I have his next one but I'm not sure how quickly I'll get to it. I have about 500 on the list I need to get through and more seem to get added each week 😁

Reading Russ Robert's How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life. Which also gets into ideas of how one should live (especially with others) and is gonna force me to read Smith's The Theory of Moral Sentiments.

I'll have to look these up later. Seems I've found a reader here πŸ‘€

I try.

I also enjoy Wordle, but I self-host it because I don't want the NYT tracking my web usage.

Ah, this has come up in convo before. If I just go to the site, with a vpn, don't sign in, what info can they get from me.

Cool that you do the self host thing, though the word is different than what I saw today

I did that for a bit too, when they first made the purchase, then I came across Reactle and it was really easy to setup.

I can't share without revealing the word. It requires HTTPS and I just use over the local network.

That would make sense that the words are different.

I'm assuming both are somewhat randomized as to what the next word might be.

A good opportunity to test it though. Today's, for me is -

Nice.

I'm not one that thinks everything should be on Nostr.

Potentially a lot of things, but not everything.

So my question, in this instance, is what makes a Nostr Wordl better than a DNS Wordl?

Connecting to a common scoreboard of people I follow, cumulating stats, etc would be nice

Awww, a social aspect to it. That makes sense.

I don't think the Nostr version had even that, but the friendly competition might be fun.

Me and a few others talk trash each day about it. It's fun. Join us

I could add that.

I was building 25 games one a day for an advent calendar but this is the one I’m most happy with keen to add to :)

LOL, spent half the round thinking the colors were the opposite of what they are.

I think I'll switch.

Lol. I fortunately guessed correctly. But it was a guess 😁

Why not both!

Maybe I can do a follow back that scrapes for npubs that have shared results :)

lol same thing happened to me

I think some of these games are fun but I don’t like the adds, I do like my current social network, I have no interest in more niche accounts and I don’t want to feed the NYT.

It’s basically a simple app with some nostr integration.

It’s a nice touch that you could run the whole thing locally or via nsite and still be playing the same word as others as there is no backend - if we really had to make it censorship resistant but I don’t think that’s really required yet :)

I tried it on iPhone other day and couldn't see all the letters. Otherwise I'd switch

Try again should all be fixed now.
