First attempt at making my own ethernet patch cables was a success!
Do patch cables still need to be made? A lot of Ethernet controllers auto negotiate this sort of thing.

Err, maybe "patch" was the wrong word? Not a crossover cable, just a basic connection.
Patch is coloquial now, it didn’t start that way.
Yes, it auto negotiates & will detect if a cable pair should be crossed.
