I do wonder what reasons they will invent. Like how does this stop anything, especially when they are actively trying not to stop the boats?
I guess they will say its because they 'undocumented' so they need id to fit into society and digital id saves money or some horseshit. Then as we are doing it for them you can all suffer too.
I thought they would try it from the we need digital id to stop cyber attacks or another 'child safety' angle, which probably one person in the country is probably stupid enough to fall for.
Increasing surveillance for a mess the government exclusively caused shows they are really getting desperate. This is like during covid when they went full mask off for a while and then had to retreat massively.
I guess the good side is they probably wont make it to the end of the year at this rate, even the MSM is turning on them to try to regain some credibility from the public.

Israel has a government ID. This doesn't change anything.
Illegals still get free education, because schools don't restrict acceptance to only documented kids. The school gets money by head count so the tax payer still pays for it.
