Thought question: assuming bitcoin represents a new New World, complete with its own time zone - or rather its own timekeeping convention (block height)...
Would this convention be tenable at extraterrestrial/interstellar distances? Is there already an accepted convention for timekeeping in space (I assume UTC would be a silly idea)? 🤔

I guess that's a valid point too. Our conception of time is so constrained by its necessary link to geographic location on Earth. Seems so obvious that this becomes a woefully inadequate system as soon as you leave the atmosphere (or time travel for that matter)... block height doesn't seem to suffer this same limitation
It takes on average 12’ (depending on orbits) to send information from earth to mars at light speed.
My best guess is that the planet with the most hash rate would host the bitcoin protocol ; other planets would be on layers so they could still operate and settle transactions without having to worry about cross planets double spend.
