Prioritising the low cost of transacting on the base layer is probably not the optimal strategy for the long term adoption of the protocol.

Having said that I'm no fan of moving fast and changing things for no reason.

it is usually inefficient and has major flaws

complicated is usually also not correct either, tends to be hard to maintain and have other flaws that are hard to find

elegant is the general term for a solution that is both simple and complete
