I live in the US and many of my friends and colleagues here mistakenly use the word "Bollywood" for Indian movies. But the fact is, there is a movie industry for each language/state in India. In last few years, Bollywood have been the least performing industry of the lot. This is because their cost of production is way too high and produce shit products with over the top action and unnecessary pricey song and dance routines done in foreign locations.

Meanwhile the southern states stay to the very roots and produce movies with the budget of one Bollywood song and fetch the moneybag 💰💰💰.

Southern movies especially Malayalam and Tamil language movies stand apart in the lot with content over mass appeal.
