Adoption of #BTC and Austrian economics fixes the economic problems. Electing principled politicians goes a long way in restoring justice and liberty, but the heart of the problem is spiritual.

As John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” We need a spiritual awakening in the United States. We need to turn back to God and walk in the fear of the Lord.

Self governance requires each individual to actually govern one’s self. Lawlessness at the individual level leads to chaos and inevitability invites tyrants. Freedom requires ownership and responsibility for one’s own actions and rejects blame shifting victimization.

The sovereign individual recognizes that his rights are inalienable because he is an image bearer of God. God has endowed him with personhood as a free morale agent capable of knowing right from wrong. His conscience is what distinguishes him from being merely an animal.

Being an image bearer of God is what makes the life of every individual person sacred and his natural right’s inviolable. Therefore, we are able to have a government, of the people by the people and for the people. Society is built from the individual up.

Every institution is made up of individuals, each submitting to a higher law— the natural law or God’s law if you will. Therefore, no institution has greater authority than natural law and has no right to violate the rights of the individual free moral agent.

But when society is corrupted and individuals cast off restraint, reject God, and see themselves as mere animals, inevitably the State takes the role of God and tyranny as always the outcome. A perusal of Old Testament history will clearly demonstrate this.

Our forefathers gleaned many of their ideas about self governance from the hundreds of years that the Hebrew’s lived as a self governing people without a king. As a people, each individual was taught the law of God and held accountable to uphold it.

Inevitability they demanded a king like the other nations had despite Gods warning about the resulting tyranny that was sure to follow. They rejected God and their own freedom and in the end were enslaved.

I am not proposing a theocracy for America but a return to self governance. Regardless of your specific theology or lack thereof, we must return to acknowledging the transcendent power that is over us all and that each individual is accountable to.

Strong principled individuals lead to strong families which in turn lead to strong communities, strong states, and ultimately a strong country. A constitutional republic built from the bottom up rejecting top down worship of the institutions of government.

Every great empire and republic of the past has fallen due to corruption. Is their hope for America? Yes! God is merciful and here is a promise that he gave to Israel.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14

The same principles contained in this promise apply to us on our day. #BTC fixes the money and I am a bitcoiner, but if we don’t fix the heart of the nation, fixing the money will be in vain. It is my sincere prayer that we as individuals and communities will turn back to God
