People self hosting services from home without a static ip:

how do you expose your services on the web? No-ip? DuckDNS? Tailscale? Something else?

Cloudflare is out of the discussion for me, as I self host to avoid corporations.

I tried cloudflare but now want to move away from it. I don’t want to use a service that can decrypt and see all traffic

Right now I have a VPS with my domain pointed at it. Then I use wireguard to connect to my home lab computer and use Caddy as a reverse proxy.

So when you go to my site, it hits the VPS server… then it gets routed via Caddy down the wireguard tunnel to the appropriate app in my homelab.

I haven’t setup a middleware for authentication yet, but I’m looking into Authentik

It’s a lot to setup and figure out 😰

I run Open WebUI (my own chatGPT) and a few others. It’s incredibly useful.

My dream is to open up my server everyone and charge sats
