Oh and one more thing about privacy. Every relay you access can see your ip address, just like any other website. use a vpn or other method to obscure your ip/location is generally good practice.

Thank you. So npub is the public key and xpub is the private key?

In regard to relays, this means that when I post, only people in the relay i am connected to can see my post (rather than everyone who uses nostr)?

Nsec is your private key but you seem to be getting the idea.

Yes, originally clients only posted notes to the relays they connected to and relays only pushed notes they hosted.
