The starship troopers book is good. It is basically just rome in space and a war book. I hate space shit and fantasy shit though. I basically have a if its fiction it better take place in a spread of 100 years in the future or past of current day. Even then not huge on fiction

The book and movie are tonally completely different. The book is a basically pro fascism and earning your place in life through service novel and then Paul Verhoeven made the movie as a 90s fuck the system mockery of the ideas of it.
