I was on board, excited, even bought an NFT. But it seems like that project faded out …. I had high hopes, but there were a lot of development challenges.

By contrast nostr is growing like crazy with all sorts of development / projects - many will fail, but the winners will keep nostr booming!!!

I think they should have never did the “full release” and just let it beta, the beta version worked fine for me and it wasn’t until the released the full version, it never worked right and was so slow… I had great hopes for it

Was on there for awhile. Did really well as far as followers but never wanted to scroll because it was just a bunch of bitching and moaning. Had a hard time finding the doers on there. How nostr is, is definitely what I was seeking there

Yep. I didn’t make it very long on there. I let it slide soon after the nft thing. Yet another platform where I had hopes of selling my art that didn’t pan out. One of the crew (CXO?) was in the freedom cell I used to meet up with. In retrospect, it should have been a red flag to see how conspiracy nut/scammy he was in person. Long sordid story, but they were a big part of what tore up that meetup group.

Okay, I'll bite but just for the sake of the subject...

I'm one of them as well. When Flote was a thing, I thought everybody was united, friendly, and on the same page when it came to certain subjects. For my first social experiment on there,,, that is. I'm not really big on social media networks, that was at least until I saw Flote at the time, I thought it was essentially alright and the devs were cool people, easy to get along with, etc. But sadly Flote had it's problems in the end. King wanted to experiment with a new model, a new engine, etc., but apparently it didn't go very well. Some features were not working for me like the Bote update was, people were having problems with their livestreams, etc., and soon as I heard two devs were stepping down, I figured that was only the tip of the iceberg.

So I gathered with a crew for MeWe, and unfortunately FloteSynk was just as dysfunctional, alot of opposing views and egos from one another, our idealogies at war with one another, which was something I didn't want, but it happened anyway. Look, I know some of you who may be reading this, and if you only know very little of me, I can tell you for a certain fact that I'm not a lunatic, okay? I'm just a very disgruntled man trying to make a living and value off of something. I'm just fortunate that I even have a laptop still left standing, and an internet connection to use. I believe in pursuing my goals and hobbies.

And I'm only just gonna let this off as a small rant, but feel free to skip this paragraph if you want. (TL;DR)

You don't have to like me, let alone even trust me, but again that pretty much says the same about most of you from my end. But I'm not here to spoil everyone's day, or let alone as annoy anyone, or be annoyed by, and having to lightly debate and argue with one's philosophies and all, even though I know most are based on bullshit. But you know what? You be you, and I'll be me. Why is it so hard to peacefully disagree on one's views WITHOUT the insult and mockery of one another? If we're adults here, we better start damn well acting like it! Just leave me the hell alone and I'll do the same for you, but don't isolate me from getting in contact with others as well. I'm sure that's not your intention, but I just hope this doesn't become another Flote... Or even worse, FloteSynk.

That being said, the past is the past, we're all growing here on Nostr, and it's time to move on. Time for us to build communities, pursue our own goals, I'm not forcing anyone to listen to my shit, I'm not forcing anyone to initiate violent, shady or crazy acts, but I'm not gonna take shit either. I don't know much about you, the OP in this post, as I'm sure you know very little about me as well.

I'm only posting this to give other shipwreck members a second chance, or a chance to catch up on what we may have missed. I'm done lingering about in the dark, it's time we do something new together. I am NOT asking you to build an army/rebellion/etc., no I'm asking to come together and help us build a better future that will benefit ALL of us, and not just the very few. I know it sounds cliche' when I say it, but if I had no principles, I wouldn't even be posting this message or be on Nostr at all.

Let's not allow our future to be all doom and gloom please. I understand why the memes and shitposts are made in response of such a thing. But let's be better... For the sake of Nostr and ourselves...

P.S. I know it's long overdue said in regards of Jack Dorsey and all, and the fact I was only on Twitter for a short period of time (and that was LONG before I discovered Flote, many years ago), but I was only on Twitter for a friend/business partner, but closed because he and I didn't see eye-to-eye. But now that Twitter's become X under Elon, I'm surprised Dorsey of all people actually gave most of his money for funding Nostr. And here I thought he was a bit of a commie a few months back, but it comes to show that he's made a big turn-around this time. I guess we should be thankful in a sense that Nostr is growing because of him...
