If you have the means to pay for hosting on cloudflare (5 dollars a month) and you like streaming you should really consider using https://live.snort.social/ it's in development but so far is amazing, and it only will get better.

nostr:npub107jk7htfv243u0x5ynn43scq9wrxtaasmrwwa8lfu2ydwag6cx2quqncxg is touching up the mobile layout and looks very sleek and the web version looks nice too! nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac and nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 are working on it while livestreaming the proccess lol

If you have idea of how to stream here without paying for hosting please share!

How do you securely login to snort on Mobile though?

You can try extensions like Nostore if you have iOS or orbit browser that lets you use alby or nos2ex extensions.

For Android users you can use nos2x in Firefox

It's not in the official Firefox Add-ons for Android. I went to the Nos2x Firefox fork repo but Firefox wouldn't let me install it there either. Tried downloading the signed xpi and no go.

Did you get this working?

I'm pretty sure you can sideload any extension, you might need to change something in the "hidden" advanced settings first though.

I just use Onyx so I've not done it myself yet but I will do when I can get onto Mutiny.

If you look up sideloading Firefox extensions on Android I'm sure there's info on how to do it. Firefox for Android is pretty much a full port of the desktop version so it can do it, just a matter of letting you install extensions from outside the official site.

Use Onyx or mutiny? Are we talking about the same thing here? I was wondering how to sign Nostr messages securely in a mobile web browser.

That is the fork of nos2x and it doesn't work in mobile Firefox unless I'm missing something.

Mb, didn’t mean non forked but in the official Firefox addons page

It's not there officially in Firefox Mobile.

Ye, I want to stream, tried all the options but their initial account creation process (the servers of the suggested services on Owncast) is a drag as they want to verify your account and takes a while. Still waiting.

Maybe selfhost owncast?

If Cloudflare charges $5 anyway you might as well self-host that's the price of a standard VPS that should be fine for a single user streaming service unless you happen to get millions of views.

Another option for true digital sovereignty is run it on your own hardware, do a reverse SSH tunnel to a VPS, now it's running on-prem and the VPS is just a proxy so you don't need to dox your IP or forward ports on your router.

I'm slightly annoyed by how useful and easy Cloudflare is to use. I think $5 is worth it vs giving Amazon/Twitch 50% or Google/YouTube 30%. You save your viewers from unwanted ads and incentivizes zaps

I’m with you. Some people that doesn’t make more than that amount a month are the ones I’d be directing that tho.

I think that there’s gotta be a free solution for them to start and then eventually move to a better service once they have a good fan zap base
