Also, the vast majority of the people in Manhattan are outsiders moving in. OG residents are few and far between.

True, but you really only meet the more genuine people when you go to other neighborhoods further out. The immigrant communities are the best, they bring a whole lot more than any suburban transplant with a trust fund.
