Making it a holiday to celebrate the birthday of the head of state is some authoritarian bullshit. And that is as much true of the proposal to do it in the US as the already existing holidays for the king’s birthday in commonwealth countries.

We already have Presidents’ Day so we didn’t have separate holidays for Lincoln and Washington.
