Graphene inherits all of the problems of Android and you can’t have root access.
Definitely not the way. My pixel is running Lineage, rooted. I had a workaround that tricked apps into thinking I had a regular version of android but an update broke that.
Why you need to run OS as root?

I feel like to do anything on Linux you need super user. I just want a truly customizable phone OS
But this is done intentionally, and that's a good thing. If it weren't, it would be like in the early versions of Windows, where opening any file could crash the operating system.

Yeah but it’s a bit old. Would be a big downgrade. Maybe I should get one or a librem 5 anyway lol
