thinking about why my following count is small compared to twitter. it’s two things.
one: new, compelling content from accounts im not already following doesn’t cross my feed that often.
two: my feed already feels kinda busy so it doesn’t occur to me to seek out more stuff
It'd be interesting to know what % of your followers on Twitter are bots. Likely something like 50% of mine are.
back in 2018 i worked really hard to block any bot accounts from following me, i like to think that kept me out of a lot of their networks but i haven’t kept on top of it

I hear you. Had to make the conscious (constant) effort to find interesting commentators/contributors to follow.
