I’m a bit surprised that through all of 2023, no news stories have broken on nostr.
No market insider leaks, no scandals, no early rumours. What am I missing?
I would expect pre-journalism rumours to swirl around here as speculation and journalists to feel compelled to monitor nostr for leads.
The media can't benefit from a nostr news story, because it's not a centralized POS.
It's just currently being built to operate that way, charging users for everything when everyone across the globe, needs more money.
Devs - "We need more diverse users"
Devs are building nostr features and tools to LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS under the name of "freedom tech".
Maybe one day they will grasp that...
Those diverse users, don't have money to hand over to them to post larger videos or go live...
When freedom, sovereignty, and privacy don't cost anything;
That's when those diverse users join.
Thats when nostr wins.
That's when devs should worry about filling pockets.
But if you ask me, it may be to late to turn this ship around.
No one is seeing the iceberg.
I‘m not sure that if I understand. Is it that the infrastructure is unmaintainable at the future income and needs to be simpler and focused on the basic functionality?
Because we just got memes going for us. Maybe instead of #zapathons we do #zapraisers for accounts that are providing signal.

The average user during them 8 zapathons in total is sending an average of $3 in sats....
I say we take that $3/mo and put it in someone's hands to go out there and give it to someone not on nostr or into bitcoin.
We need to show others.
Not sell them a dream.
