Day 84: #grownostr initiative

I found this little guy in the garden. Its the first Cantaloupe (I still dont know if there is time for it to grow into an edible fruit though.) I planted the Cantaloupe too early this spring and the temperature dropped near freezing and killed most of the Cantaloupe plants except for a few. After that they grew and developed incredibly slow. There have been a lot of flowers for weeks but I not seen one bee on them.

Nice! Leave him on the vine until you have a frost coming tomorrow and then pick him, maybe you’ll get lucky, maybe you won’t, but you will learn something new either way!

For sure. We have several months still before the first frost. I always think even if I don't harvest fruit, I always harvest knowledge for the next year

I'm in the same boat--but for planting too late! I water and weed with no hope, but it's pleasant all the same...
