Ethereum's upcoming Pectra upgrade is set to introduce significant changes to the network, enhancing user experience and data availability while addressing protocol shortcomings. The upgrade, expected in early 2025, incorporates a substantial number of Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), including EIP 7251, which increases the maximum effective balance of validators from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH. The Pectra upgrade will also include non-critical improvements such as optimizing client software efficiency and enhancing staking UX.
