The parents of the kids our son's age (we're a solid 5-10 years older than most sometimes more 👵) call the boys bud. I hate it, but I think it goes along with what you're asking here. Yes I think it is generational, as a person who is horrible with names I just leave it at hey!!! how are you? and then ask someone who the fuck is this person that thinks we're besties 😂🤷‍♀️
