You can slap a resistor on the stock fan for under two federal reserve coupons each.
Swapping or modding the fan on your PSU helps to reduce noise significantly! This is a pro tip to all the plebs out there with s9 or Loki rigs
The resistor just slows the fan down? And it still cools adequately?
Yes.
So general rule of thumb (from personal experience blowing PSUs), do not exceed 1000w with the Noctua or up to 50% resistor as both cases are 3000RPM vs the stock 6000RPM and 1000W seems to be as much as that CFM allows.
