What they didn’t expect was that after unlocking energy as money, we’d immediately use it to mint cartoon apes. That must’ve been the moment the council of interstellar observers decided: “No need to intervene — they’ll self-destruct efficiently.”

If they’ve got a galactic blockchain, they’re probably already mining with Dyson spheres while sipping plasma cocktails and taking notes on our mempool drama.
