Hadn’t even heard of wherostr 😅 will check it out!

In terms of taking the best ideas and implementing them I’ve been thinking since nostr:npub16t5h7ueq248pxp54rf72a0svt2tzc3jdz5fjfmykqe2m8656f5dszdspn0 said he was starting to get itchy that maybe he’s behind some mouth dropping client initiative 👀

(Maybe it’s only wishful thinking)

I personally like that people who are #nostr devs announce the shit they’ve done. It’s a great way to know where credit is due :) and from the interviews I’ve heard from nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s , specially the last one with nostr:npub1cj8znuztfqkvq89pl8hceph0svvvqk0qay6nydgk9uyq7fhpfsgsqwrz4u it seems like he’s into it for the ideals and the challenge of building it the way that aligns with his vision of decentralization.

The whole local relays for #notedeck sounds awesome, as well as the visualization idea for people actively communicating in clusters 🤩

In any case, the chaos is #decentralization brings this sort of reduncancy in some clients, but I’m confident only the great ones will stand the test of time ✨🤙

I know exactly what kind of person Will is, I dealt with his type on XDA for almost a decade. If he really cared as much as he says he does, he would be developing for Android.

You don’t get to say you’re all about freedom and then drop an update to an app that is only available on an OS who’s priorities are the complete opposite of that.

Don’t even get me started on him, monetizing TestFlight or asking $50 for a $3 hat and trying to justify it by saying it goes towards payroll. IDGAF where it goes, but you have to allow the person to think they are, at the very least, not getting ripped off.

And lastly, I have no problem with developers adding their accomplishments to their bio, but all of the ones that I have seen, do it in a more humble way. I made this, this and this, just makes you sound like an attention seeking douchebag. I’m sorry but it does. 🤷🏻‍♂️

i know you’re just a troll but for other people reading who don’t already know: we have a working android app, and it works for all platforms: https://damus.io/notedeck

Listing things I make makes me a douchebag, ok lol. I guess i’ll take that as a compliment if you think they are accomplishments.

Since nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7erfw36x7tnsw43z7un9d3shjqpqxtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsdutf6t already replied about him also working on android, I’ll tell you my opinion on your comment.

I think it’s very judgmental to criticize someone’s work simply if he doesn’t choose to work on the platform or kind of device that you prefer. This is an open protocol that people can contribute to, and which already has a ton of android contributors. If you want to ”prove a better decentralization model” you’re free to put your time and effort where your mouth is. That’s the whole point of open source and decentralization. I’m writing this from an iPad so I’m very much a beneficiary to having an awesome client like nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7erfw36x7tnsw43z7un9d3shjqpq8m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qs8ca660 for iOS.

On the other hand, opensource developers also need to make a living and pay rent. Having offered a FREE Damus version and letting people voluntarily pay for a purple subscription is a monetization model that benefits both freeloaders (like me currently) and people who wish to support the contributors whose work they wish to see continue, and so is selling merch.

Guess you “dealt“ with a lot of open source developers, but idk if you value their free contributions that benefit us all.
