Anyone have experience taking FCC exams for amateur radio operator?

I have something rooting around in my brain and I think I need to get that license to test it.

Is the prep and exam simple or does it take a ton of studying?

I did it about 5 years ago. Took a class but didn’t pass the test. It def takes studying and paying attention. I underestimated the test.

Good feedback. Thanks!

I’ve been thinking about it too. Found a playlist for a 3 part technician class.

The test is 35 questions and you need to get 26 correct.

Some people can memorize the answers. There is an app called HRE-Tech. Has all the possible questions and the correct answers highlighted but there’s over 400 possible questions.

Awesome - thanks! I keep seeing that some people say the rest is hard and some it’s super easy

KE8ATC here, licensed General. The Technician exam requires some basic electronics knowledge. You'll want the official study guide. https://hamstudy.org is a great place to do practice exams.

Awesome. Thanks!
