Houses, especially desirable houses are no longer for living in, they are a store of value. Rich Boomers have bought them and as soon as a they’re able they pass them onto their kids and after living 7 years they don’t have to pay ANY inheritance tax. It’s a loophole left by politicians for themselves and for billionaires so they can pass their wealth onto their children.

Houses are a store of value largely because the money is broken.

If the money held its value, politicians would have less power. Less power for the politicians would mean fewer paths to corruption and unjust laws.
