Zuckerberg who vows to tackle climate change it doing a good job at it.

Allegedly he bought a Yacht that uses 4 diesel engines with fuel consumption rating of 291 gallons/hour EACH.

Nothing screams being a climate activist by driving a boat that burns nearly 1200 gallons of diesel per hour.

Let's do some quick math on the "carbon footprint" of this.

They say on average Diesel fuel produces 2.68kg of CO2 per 1 liter. Not sure how these numbers came to be but it seems like a general consensus.

Convert the consumption of his Yacht of 1164 gallons per hour to liters and you have 1164 x 3.7854 (assuming its US gallons) = 4406.20 liters/hour x 2.68kg of CO2 = 11808.63 KG of CO2 every hour.

Studies say that the "average" co2 emissions per person in the world is about 4.66 metric tonnes.

That's right. 11.8 metric tonnes per HOUR compared to the 4.66 average per human being per YEAR.

Your math sounds retarded and I don’t use that word often.

What part of the math is wrong?

291 GALLONS / Hr. Seems sus. from the start. That is a HUGE fuel burn.

11.8 Tonnes? PER hour? Are you SURE about that? 🤔

I don’t know about op’s data sources, but the math on the values laid out in the post is valid.

That’s not part of the math, it’s a lookup value. Large vessels burn a lot of fuel.
