GM nostr folk & Happy Saturday!

Any bolete experts out there? I’m trying to determine the species here, but boletes are so difficult.

Pores are a very light pink color, cap solid brown. Stem has slight netting where fertile surface meets the stem, white stem fades to a deep purple near the base. No cutting reactions, nor slicing reactions, mushroom does bruise reddish/brown after a few hours. Taste (taste & spit) is a mild nutty flavor. Spore print is also brownish/reddish.

Mushroom was growing near the forest edge on the ground around a few large maples & poplars.

My guess is tylopilus indecisus or look up tylopilus

Hmmm it could be that. It’s either that or boletus separans, I think. The only thing that doesn’t quite match on the tylopilus is the stem color

That’s what I thought but didn’t have better idea.
