Replying to nobody

I’ve been here for just few weeks and I’ve been zapped a few times thanks to what I wrote or created. I don’t need the zaps and I don’t want to know where others put their sats. You know… It’s their sats and nostr is about freedom.

I really hope that the social side of nostr will never become a market.

Zaps are medals, not profit.

I don't come here for Zaps. But I don't blame people who come here to monetize. It is an aspect of social media, and how some beginner journalists start out. Also great for gamers. Right now gamers use platforms where they take over 50% of there earnings. Which not only screws the creator but also the fan/follower. So it is a great aspect to Nostr. This is a side hustle for some people, same with Twitch, Tiktok etc.

We have very different points of view about what is the function of social networks.

I deeply respect your opinion, but I also see the risks involved in introducing marketing strategies and profit rules in a place where freedom of expression is a distinctive trait.

Still, you or anyone may want to try and introduce new (or old) things. Nostr community will debate and decide.

That said, I welcome self promotion and markets based on nostr protocol (and bitcoin).

See. Easiest way to explain. I'm unbiased. I believe people can use social media for whatever they intend. I am very open minded. ☺️

Sure!

We could spend the day writing about objects, their lost functions, social models and other interesting stuff (Jean Baudrillard wrote a few books actually), but I just hope nobody will leave if not zapped as much as expected.
