Non-psyop is a psyop? Let's break it down. What should we do?

Short for psychological operation, a psyop is a secret campaign usually by a governmental organization to modify

public opinion through false news stories. While traditionally psyops were done by a single organization, today we it's done by pundits, on 4chan, and maybe even through bluechecks.

The vuln that's being exploited here has to do with independent verification. We can't verify most news personally and we're not yet good enough at seeking out independent verifiers to replace the ones who've disgraced themselves. We get part way there when folks like Doomberg describe their process.

It all comes down to efficiency, once we build up fresh networks of trust we can once again simply read the damn news. We start on solid footing by understanding the methods of verification. Elements of Journalism is a good book on this as is Doomberg's recent appearance on What Bitcoin Did.
