Dear Diary,
Today, as I carefully observed the reality around us, I contemplated with a mixture of sadness and indignation how the various social media platforms have become breeding grounds for "news" as false as the intentions of many people I know. These digital media outlets only publish what the masses want to hear, without caring about the truth, without caring about the consequences. Journalistic ethics, once a fundamental pillar, seems to have completely disappeared; now only "likes," views, and the algorithms that determine the reach of information matter.
It is heartbreaking to witness how many people are deluded by what these fraudsters publish online, taking it as a lifeline of hope amidst their despair and the lack of freedom that overwhelms them in every aspect of their lives.
We live in a rich nation, but one held hostage by those who only seek their own benefit at the expense of the people. A nation where ordinary people have lost all their fundamental rights. I fervently hope that this situation will soon change, that the light of truth and justice will finally illuminate our lives.
With hope for a better tomorrow,
Argenis Tavacare
