Now that more countries are looking to create a strategic #bitcoin reserve I’m wondering, is that any different than what El Salvador did?

I know Bitcoin is a legal tender in El Salvador, and the President Nayib Bukele is buying Bitcoin on a large scale, but how is a Strategic Bitcoin reserve different?

I guess it depends then on who decides when to use it and for what purpose, EL Salvador just collects bitcoin but if they want to sell it tomorrow they can do so since its not a strategic reserve.

Oh really? Just like that?

Thats how it would make sense to me at least

They said to hold ₿ for 20 years so thats longterm strategic

After all Trump is a simple men with simple solutions.

I wasn’t really talking about him tbh 😅 was more about Brazil. But yeah, USA is also looking into it

Fair enough but this now got me thinking, since brazil has now a left government and they announced that a few days later, correct i would have rather expected Argentina following suit so thats an interesting observation since this is not associated with being either left or right.

Maybe Strategic means politics can use it. But it will not generally benefit the public?

What other countries??

Brasil is one :)

and Buthan might be the next in line 😉
