i think it has to do with the orientation of the ask
when i ask a other server i need a proxy
when someone asks my server i need a reverse proxy

😄 so the other one's proxy is your reverse proxy - I'd name it a request cache 😄
actually I'd like to know what it does to your lnd - I'm using tor and am not so happy. but don't want to reveal...
got the same problem and waiting for 0.3.6 update where there will be portforwarding and then it should be possible to get into clearnet without revealing your location
and i hope the traffic on my node will be even more
